Caring for Creation - Eco Church

God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. (Gen 1:31)


The earth is the LORD’S and all that is in it,

the world, and those who live in it;

(Psalm 21:1)



As Christians we believe that God created the world, and that his creation is good.  Thus the world actually belongs to God!  As his people, we live by a creation mandate to be good stewards of God’s world.  This is all the more important today given that there is now scientific evidence to prove that human activity and our lifestyles are the prime causes of climate change. This as we now know, impacts those living in poorer countries because they simply do not have the resources to cope with the changing climate such as floods and droughts.


St. Martin’s Church is an Eco Church and in November 2016 received the Bronze Award for its commitment to caring for God’s creation.
